WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- One pack of spider webs
- Caution Tape
- Two packs of skeleton hands
- Strobe light (optional)
- Candy
- Tape & scissors
HOW TO GET THE LOOK:
- To recreate this Dollar Tree trunk or treat idea, start by stretching your spider web across the trunk until and securing the ends with tape. We suggest electrical tape but any heavy duty tape should work.
- Once the webs cover most of your trunk, it is time to tape down your skeleton hands.
- Lastly, tape your caution tape over your webs to add a scary vibe and put your candy on the floor of your trunk!
2. Luau Trunk or Treat Idea
This super cute and unique trunk or treat idea is the perfect idea if you have any decor leftover from your summer parties! Create the ultimate luau in your trunk by hanging some colorful leis around the perimeter of your car and a fun luau sign to tie the look together.

To recreate this spooky trunk, you will need four ghosts, assorted balloons, and markers to draw on some creepy eyes! Simply just create a balloon arch with your balloons and then draw eyes on some of them for that spooky touch. Complete the look by hanging your ghosts and filling your trunk with lots of candy.
TIP: Play spooky music in the background to make your trunk extra fun and spooky.
4. Inside Out Trunk or Treat
For the younger kids, this Inside Out themed trunk or treat idea can actually be done on a budget and make your kiddos smile. To copy this look, start by finding small plastic balls in different colors to represent all of the emotions. Display these balls on cardboard with ledges to cover your back seats. Create your very own haunted house in the back of your trunk for this years trunk or treat by using cardboard from your packages. Start by cutting the cardboard so that it coves the enter opening of your trunk and then paint on a spooky door and some windows. Then, create steps by folding a larger piece of cardboard numerous times and painting some spooky stokes on it. Complete your house with a cardboard roof, some webs, and pumpkins to decorate the place.
8. Gumball Machine
A gumball machine is a great trunk or treat idea if you are on a budget and want an easy DIY. Start by blowing a pack of colorful balloons to serve as your gumballs and putting them in a clear plastic recycle bag. Then, take a folding poster board and cover it in red paper or red paint for the machine. Next, use foil to create the metal parts of your gumball machine and a paper towel roll for the lever. Lastly, place a cardboard red top on the top of your machine and line the machine with black tape to hide any imperfect borders.
9. M&M
For a budget friendly and colorful looking trunk, try this m&m inspired trunk to get the job done. All you need to do is paint a pack of plates in assorted colors and once they dry paint the iconic “m” in white.
